Objective of the Game

Abnehmen (or "Bodyfit") is a board game that aims to address weight loss in a playful way while promoting healthy lifestyle habits. Players work to lose weight with their game character and strive to have the lowest 'weight' at the end of the game.

Game Components

  • A board with a track divided into weeks.
  • Figurines for each player.
  • A deck of action cards associated with rewards or obstacles.
  • A nutrition and exercise journal pad.
  • Dice for movement progression on the board.

Setup

  1. Each player chooses a figurine and places it on the starting space on the board.
  2. Distribute the nutrition and exercise journals to each player.
  3. Shuffle the action cards and place them face down next to the board.

Gameplay

  1. Start: Players roll the dice to determine the starting order. The player with the highest number goes first.
  2. Take a Turn: Roll the dice and move your character forward by the number rolled.
  3. Action Cards: If you land on an action space, draw an action card and follow the instructions, such as:
  4. Cooked Healthy Meal: Move forward 2 spaces.
  5. Did Sports Activity: Roll again and move forward that number.
  6. Ate Sweets: Move back 1 space.
  7. Had a Sedentary Day: Miss a turn.
  8. Weekly Summary: At the end of each round, players record progress or setbacks in their journal, impacting their character's 'weight.'

End of the Game

The game ends when a player reaches the finish line or the set number of rounds (weeks) is completed. The player with the best journal record and 'virtual weight loss' wins the game.

Strategic Tips

  • Aim to land on spaces that provide you with energy boosts more frequently.
  • Plan your moves to draw as many action cards as possible for added progress.
  • Carefully monitor journal hints; they are crucial to winning.
