Objective of the Game

In Hotel Tycoon, the objective is to become the most successful hotel magnate. Players buy plots, build hotels, and strategically try to bankrupt the other players. The last player remaining with money is the winner.

Setup and Preparation

1. Set up the board: Place the game board in the center of the table. Each player selects a token and places it on the starting square "Go".
2. Distribute capital: Each player receives starting capital in form of play money. The exact amount varies depending on the number of players (e.g., $12,000 for 2 players, $8,000 for 4 players).
3. Hotels and Title Deeds: Sort the hotel buildings by types. Shuffle the title deeds and place them ready.
4. Appoint a bank: One player becomes the banker, managing the play money and hotel inventory.

Gameplay

1. Beginning a turn: Players take turns rolling two six-sided dice and moving their token forward based on the dice roll.

3. Unbuilt Plot: Players can purchase the plot by paying the indicated price to the bank and receiving the title deed.
4. Hotel Building: Once a player owns all plots of a hotel category, they may build hotels by paying the building cost to the bank.
5. Hotel Entrance: Players can buy an additional entrance to their hotels, increasing chances for opponents to land on them.
6. Paying Opponents: When landing on an opponent's hotel, a player must pay the usage fee to the owner.
7. Event Spaces: These spaces have various effects, such as monetary losses or going to jail.
8. Strategic Aspects: Players must plan carefully when to buy plots or build hotels. Timing and risk assessment are crucial.
9. Bankruptcy: A player is bankrupt if unable to meet financial obligations. This player is out of the game.

Ending the Game

The game ends when only one player remains solvent, i.e., all others are bankrupt. This player is declared the Hotel Tycoon.

Strategic Tips

• Diversification: Avoid investing in a single hotel category. Diversification reduces risk.
• Timing: Strategically decide when to save money and when to invest.
• Tactical Entrance Placement: Additional entrances increase the likelihood of opponents landing on your property.
