Metro
Objective: In Metro, the objective is for players to build the longest possible tracks for their trains by laying track tiles on a game board to score the most points. Tracks can be directed inside the board or towards various stations around the edge.
Setup: - Place the game board in the center of the table. It shows a grid of squares where track tiles can be placed. - Each player chooses a color and takes the corresponding trains. The number of trains depends on the number of players. - The trains are placed on starting points around the edge of the board, marked with the chosen color. - The track tiles are shuffled face down, and each player receives a certain number of tiles on their hand.
Rules: 1. Gameplay: - Each turn involves two main steps: placing a tile and scoring points. - Players take turns placing one track tile on the board, ensuring it connects to an existing tile or the edge of the board. - After placing a tile, players check to see if one or more train lines have been completed.
- Scoring:
- When a line is completed, the player scores points based on the number of tiles included in that line.
-
Some versions of the game provide additional points for reaching certain stations or fulfilling special conditions.
-
Special Tiles:
-
Some tiles have special functions, such as switches that allow changing the direction of the tracks, offering more flexibility in track building.
-
End of the Game:
- The game ends when all tiles are placed and no more moves can be made.
- The player with the highest score wins the game.
Strategic Tips: - Plan ahead and be aware of how the other players' lines are developing, using opportunities to block their points. - Use special tiles wisely to gain more points or to shorten opponents' tracks. - Try to keep your paths within the board as long as possible before they exit to maximize your score.
