Objective of the Game
The objective of Stoßpudel is to improve your position on the board and score points by cleverly bumping into other game pieces. The player with the most points at the end wins the game.
Setup
- Each player selects a game piece in their preferred color.
- The game board is placed in the center, with all obstacles and power-ups set according to the instructions.
- Each player receives a score sheet and a pen.
- Shuffle all cards and place them ready to use.
Gameplay
Game Rounds: The game is played in rounds, with each round consisting of 4 phases:
- Movement Phase:
- Each player can move their game piece up to a certain extent (e.g., 4 spaces).
-
Movement can be orthogonal or diagonal.
-
Bump Phase:
- When a player finishes their movement next to opposing game pieces, they can perform a "bump."
- Bump: The player nudges a neighboring opposing piece one space in any direction.
-
Bumping scores direct points on the score sheet.
-
Event Phase:
- Draw an event card. These cards include positive or negative effects that apply instantly.
-
The player must follow the instructions on the card.
-
Scoring Phase:
- Players receive points based on their piece's position relative to goals established at the start of the round.
- Points are written down at the beginning of each round in the scoring phase.
Power-Ups and Obstacles
- Power-Ups: These can be used during the "Bump Phase" to gain advantages such as additional moves or obstruction-free bumps.
- Obstacles: Game pieces cannot bump through obstacles - however, movement around obstacles is allowed.
End of the Game
The game ends either after a set number of rounds or if a player reaches a specific score (e.g., 50 points). The player with the most points is declared the winner.
Strategic Tips
- Positioning is crucial, as it is important for both attacking and blocking opposing moves.
- Use the event cards to your advantage and try to find a board position that leaves your piece least vulnerable.
- Plan power-ups strategically to maximize point gains during critical phases of the game.
