Objective of the Game

Mischwald (Mixed Forest) is a strategic card game where the aim is to create the richest and healthiest forest possible. Players compete to fill their forest plot with the greatest diversity of plants and animals, while managing environmental factors and challenges.

Number of Players

Mischwald can be played with 2 to 6 players.

Game Materials

• Cards: There are various types of cards, including tree, animal, fungus, and environment cards.
• Point Chips: These are used to keep track of player scores.

Setup

1. Each player draws an initial hand of 5 cards.
2. The remaining cards form the draw deck in the center of the table.
3. Each player receives a set amount of point chips.

Game Flow

The game progresses in rounds, and each round consists of several phases:

1. Draw Phase

• At the start of each round, each player draws two cards from the draw deck.

2. Planting Phase

• During this phase, each player can play up to two cards from their hand to expand their forest.
• Tree Cards increase biodiversity and provide habitat for animals.
• Animal Cards score points if the habitat was previously created with appropriate tree cards.
• Fungus Cards can provide additional bonuses or have negative effects on other players.

3. Environment Phase

• Players draw a card from the environment deck, which can have a positive or negative impact on all forests. These cards simulate random events like drought, floods, or flourishing spells.

4. Scoring Phase

• Each player tallies the points they score for animal and bonus cards. Points are managed with point chips.

End of the Game

The game ends when the draw deck is exhausted, and all players have played their cards. The winner is the one with the most points.
