Objective

Pank-A-Squith is a satirical board game created by the Suffragettes in early 20th century Britain. The objective is to bring as many voters (represented by playing pieces) safely to the ballot box while obstructing the opponents' pieces.

Setup

  • The game board features a cartographic representation of London as a travel route.
  • Each player chooses a playing piece and places it at the starting point.
  • There are cards that trigger random events or actions.

Rules

  1. Game Start: Each player rolls a die to determine the order of play. The player with the highest roll starts.

  2. Turns: In each turn,

  3. The player rolls a die and moves their piece that number of spaces on the board.
  4. The player draws an event card if they land on a designated space.

  5. Event Cards: These cards have various effects like advancing or retreating pieces or blocking moves.

  6. Winning: A player wins when they successfully navigate all their pieces to the ballot box. Alternatively, the player with the most pieces near the ballot box within a set number of turns wins.

Strategic Tips

  • Positioning & Blocking: Use your pieces to block paths and prevent opponents from advancing.
  • Alternate Routes: Some moves allow switching between routes, which can be used to avoid event cards.
  • Use Event Cards Tactically: Strategic holding of cards can be beneficial in critical moments to gain advantage or hinder opponents.

Special Considerations

  • Forming Alliances: In multi-player games, forming temporary alliances can be a winning strategy to overcome threatening opponents.

This game combines dice luck, tactics, and a touch of historical awareness, enabling players to relive the social and political tensions of the era.
