Objective of the Game

32-heb auf is a card game aiming to collect the fewest penalty points. It is played with a standard 32-card deck, consisting of cards from 7 to Ace in four suits.

Game Setup

  1. Prepare the Deck: Use a 32-card deck (7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace).
  2. Select Players: At least two players are needed.
  3. Dealer: One player shuffles and deals five cards to each player. The remaining deck is placed face down in the center, and the top card is placed face up next to it, forming the discard pile.

Gameplay

  • The game proceeds clockwise.
  • The player to the dealer's left starts.

Player's Turn

  • Draw: A player can draw either the top card of the face-down deck or the top card of the discard pile.
  • Discard: After drawing, the player must place one card from their hand onto the discard pile.
  • Objective: Players try to minimize the points in their hand by skillfully exchanging cards.

End of the Game and Scoring

  • Ending the Game: The game ends when a player has exactly 32 points in hand and announces "32-heb auf." This player wins the round, and other players note their hand's score as penalty points.
  • Scoring:
  • 7 counts as 7 points
  • 8 counts as 8 points
  • 9 counts as 9 points
  • 10 counts as 10 points
  • Jack counts as 2 points
  • Queen counts as 3 points
  • King counts as 4 points
  • Ace counts as 11 points

Tactical Hints

  • Card Management: Keep your weak cards (Jack, Queen, King) together for the lowest hand total.
  • Pay Attention: Keep track of the discarded cards to strategically decide which card to draw from the discard pile.

The game ends after a set number of rounds or if a player exceeds a predetermined number of penalty points. The player with the fewest penalty points across all rounds wins the game.
