My City - Rules
Objective:
In My City, each player develops their own burgeoning city. It's a Legacy game, where the board and rules evolve with each play session. The objective is to get the most points each game session while building the most flourishing city over the entire campaign.
Components:
- 24 building tiles per player, shaped like Tetris-style polyominos
- 8 chapters each with 3 game sessions (total of 24 sessions)
- Game board for each player (double-sided: Legacy side and a fixed side for endless play)
- Cards for building projects
- Markers to track progress
Setup:
- Each player takes a game board.
- Choose the side with the Legacy grid for chapter play.
- Sort building tiles by color.
- Prepare the next chapter based on Legacy rules.
- Shuffle the building cards for the projects.
Game Play:
1. Round Start:
- Draw a building card, indicating which building tile is placed this round.
2. Placement:
- Place the specified building tile on your city board. Must be adjacent to existing tiles, and cannot be moved once placed.
- Follow any special rules unlocked by Legacy stickers.
- Option to pass, but this incurs a point penalty.
3. Scoring:
- Points are awarded for completed forest areas, rivers, and building complexes.
- Penalties for unfilled spaces and ignored requirements.
Legacy Component:
- Each game session follows the chapter's instructions: stickers are placed, changes noted. Players adapt rules through bonuses or penalties won.
- Keep track of points for the overall campaign score. Bonuses from one game impact future games.
Eternal Game Mode:
- The fixed side of the board provides an enduring version for standalone play, independent of the campaign.
Strategic Tips:
- Plan Ahead: Learn and utilize changes and stickers for better scores.
- Risk vs. Stability: Sometimes skipping a piece placement is wise to keep options open, even with point penalties.
- Watch Legacy Aspects: These often provide key advantages or challenges in future games.
With these strategic nuances and development on multiple levels, My City offers a unique blend of strategy and Legacy experience.
