Objective of the Game
In Geisteruhr, players work together to defeat all ghosts before the clock strikes midnight. The game ends either when all ghosts are defeated or the clock reaches 12, meaning the team has lost.
Setup
- Place the game board in the center of the table.
- Put the ghost clock in its designated spot on the board.
- Each player selects a game piece and places it on the starting space.
- Shuffle the ghost cards and place them in a face-down stack.
- Prepare the dice.
- Set the clock to 9 o'clock.
Game Play
Turn Phases:
- Summon Ghosts: Draw a card from the ghost deck and place a ghost on the corresponding space on the board.
- Move: The player may move up to three spaces.
- Combat: The player can attempt to combat a ghost on the space where they end their movement.
Combatting Ghosts
- To combat a ghost, the player rolls the dice.
- Each ghost has a resistance number that must be matched or exceeded by the roll.
- If successful, the ghost card is discarded.
- If failed, the ghost remains on the board.
Advancing the Clock
- If a player finishes their turn without defeating a ghost, the ghost clock advances by one hour.
Winning and Losing
- Players win when all ghost cards are used up and no ghosts remain on the board.
- Players lose if the clock reaches midnight before all ghosts are cleared.
Strategic Considerations
- It is important to distribute the players effectively across the board to cover different areas simultaneously.
- Prioritize stronger ghosts first to avoid wasting time.
- Communicate and plan your moves together to maximize efficiency.
