Objective of the Game

In Grand Austria Hotel, set in turn-of-the-century Vienna, players take on the role of hotel owners. The objective is to run the most successful hotel by serving guests, preparing rooms, and hiring staff. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins.

Setup

1. Game Board and Hotel Boards: Place the game board in the center and distribute a hotel board to each player.
2. Decks of Cards: Shuffle the decks of guest, staff, and politician cards and place them in their designated areas.
3. Dice: Use a number of dice equal to the number of players plus one. Roll them into the dice tower and distribute them among the action spaces.
4. Wooden Resources: Prepare the resources (cake, wine, coffee, and strudel), as well as money and wooden markers.
5. Starting Setup: Provide each player with starting resources according to their turn order.

Gameplay

The game is played over 7 rounds. Each round consists of the following phases:

1. Revealing Guests: At the start of each round, open guest cards are revealed for players to recruit.

3. Dice Actions: Players, in turn, choose a dice action based on the available rolled dice. Each number corresponds to a specific action:
   • Buying: Acquire resources like cake or wine.
   • Preparation: Prepare rooms in the hotel for guests.
   • Hiring: Recruit staff which offers special bonuses.
   • Money: Gain money or generate victory points.

4. The number of actions performed depends on the number of dice in that action area.

5. Serving and Accommodating Guests: Players serve guests, utilize their abilities, and refill occupied rooms.

6. End of Round: Used dice are re-rolled into the tower, the player order is adjusted, and new guest cards are displayed.

Special Rules

• Politician Cards: These provide additional objectives that grant bonus points if completed by the end of the game.
• End Scoring: Points are awarded for achievements like occupied rooms, satisfied guests, and completed staff cards.

Strategic Tips

• Resource Management: Efficiently managing resources is crucial. Avoid overcommitting to too many guests at once to prevent shortages.
• Adapting to Dice Rolls: Since the dice choice is variable, players should adapt to the current state of the game.
