Instructions Anno 1701 – Das Brettspiel

Objective

The objective of Anno 1701 – The Board Game is to accumulate the most victory points through clever trading of resources, fulfilling contracts, and building up structures. The game ends when specific conditions are met, and the player with the most victory points wins.

Setup

1. Set up the board in the center of the table.
2. Victory Point Track: Place the victory point track next to the game board.
3. Resources: Sort the resources (wood, bricks, tools, gold) into their designated areas.
4. Colonist Marker: Place the colonist marker on the starting value.
5. Building Tiles and Contract Cards: Shuffle the building tiles and contract cards and place them in their spots on the board.
6. Starting Setup: Each player takes a player tableau representing their settlement, five bricks, five wood units, and some tools. Place their token on the starting point of the victory point track.

Gameplay

The game progresses over multiple rounds, each consisting of the following phases:

1. Income

Each player gains resources based on their settlement's development.

2. Trade and Resource Management

• Trading: Players can trade with each other. Prices and trades are negotiated among players.
• Building: Players can construct buildings by spending the required resources, granting benefits and potentially immediate victory points.

3. Fulfill Contracts

Players attempt to fulfill the conditions on the available contract cards to gain additional victory points.

4. Advance the Colonist Marker

Move the colonist marker based on certain conditions being met in the game or not.

End of the Game

The game ends when the colonist marker reaches a specific field or when the contract cards run out. Each player then counts all collected victory points: - Building Points: Each building has a point value. - Contract Points: Points for fulfilled contracts.
