Objective of the Game

Verflixxt! is an exciting board game where the main objective is to collect as many point tiles with positive values while avoiding the tiles with negative values. The game ends when all players have moved their pieces to the finish. The player with the most points wins the game.

Game Components

  • A game board with a continuous path made up of tiles
  • Pieces for each player
  • A die
  • Lucky clover tokens, which can positively influence players' luck

Setup

  1. Lay out the game board with the tiles in a path on the table.
  2. Shuffle the tiles well and place them face down along the path in the designated spaces.
  3. Each player takes a pawn and places it on the starting space.
  4. A neutral guardian is also placed on the starting space.
  5. Each player receives lucky clover tokens, depending on the number of players.

Gameplay

Verflixxt! is played in turns, and the players take turns performing their moves. The following steps describe a player's turn:

  1. Roll the Die: The active player rolls the die and moves one of their pieces the number of spaces indicated.
  2. Tile Action: If the pawn lands on a tile, the player checks the tile's value.
  3. The player decides if they want to take the tile or leave it on the board.
  4. The guardian can protect tiles when standing on the same tile, preventing them from being taken.
  5. Lucky Clover Tokens: At the turn’s end, the player can choose to spend a lucky clover token to alter the dice roll or gain an additional movement.

End of the Game

The game ends once all pawns have reached the end. Each player then adds up the points of their collected tiles, and the player with the highest score wins.

Strategic Tips

  • Consider carefully when to use your lucky clover tokens to strategically position yourself on valuable tiles or avoid negative ones.
  • The guardian can be used to protect valuable tiles for future moves or block other players from accessing them.
  • Pay attention not only to your own tiles but also to the ones your opponents are collecting. Sometimes it might be strategic to take a negative tile instead of allowing an opponent to collect it, thereby reducing their score.
