Vikings Gone Wild
Objective of the Game: The objective of "Vikings Gone Wild" is to collect as many Victory Points (VP) as possible by constructing buildings, hiring units, and completing missions. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins.
Game Setup
- Each player chooses a color and takes the corresponding player board.
- Each player receives a Starter Deck, consisting of viking cards, beer, gold, barbarian, and an upgrade card.
- Place the beer and gold markers, the underground marketplace, and the quests in the center of the table.
- Shuffle the building and unit cards and form various draw piles according to their backs.
- Each player draws 5 cards from their deck as their starting hand.
Game Flow
The game is played over several rounds, and each round consists of the following phases:
- Shopping Phase:
- Gather resources: Players receive beer and gold from their production buildings.
-
Purchase cards: Using beer and gold, players can buy building or unit cards from the market. These cards go directly to their personal discard pile.
-
Combat Phase:
- Players can attack other players by playing Attack Cards (units).
- Each target (opposing player's building) has a defense value that you must exceed.
-
Successful attacks yield rewards (victory points and additional resources).
-
Cleanup Phase:
- Players discard unused cards and draw five new ones from their deck.
- If the draw pile runs out, shuffle the discard pile to form a new draw pile.
Building & Upgrades
- Players can upgrade their buildings with cards from their resources, which provides additional benefits and sometimes victory points.
- Ability Cards offer enhanced effects throughout the game.
Game Situations and Strategy
- Resource Management: Efficiently distribute your resources to buy buildings or units effectively.
- Attack Strategies: Plan attacks carefully to gain maximum rewards and avoid wasting resources.
- Deck Optimization: Try to optimize your deck for greater strength and flexibility as the game progresses.
End of the Game
The game ends when a certain number of victory points is reached, depending on the number of players, or when specific event cards are triggered. The player with the most victory points wins.
