Objective of the Game
In Corsaro: Irrfahrt im Piratenmeer, players aim to navigate their pirate ships through the game board as quickly as possible while reaching the end safely. The path is fraught with challenges, including a large caiman, which can hinder the players' progress.
Game Components
- A game board depicting a sea route
- Several colorful pirate ship tokens
- A color die and a special symbol die
- A large caiman figure as an obstacle
- Cards with special actions or events
Setup
- Each player chooses a ship in a color and places it on the starting space of the board.
- The caiman is placed in the center of the board.
- The action cards are shuffled and placed face down next to the board.
- Determine a starting player to begin the game.
Game Play
The game is played clockwise. Each player takes their turn in the following phases:
- Rolling the Dice: The player rolls two dice. The color die indicates which color space the player may move to, and the symbol die triggers special effects.
- Moving: The player moves their pirate ship to the next space of the rolled color. If the next space is occupied by another ship, the ship is moved to the next free space of the same color.
- Moving the Caiman: When the caiman symbol is rolled, the player moves the caiman to the barrier on the board to hinder other ships.
- Playing Action Cards: If the symbol die shows a card, the player draws an action card and follows its instructions.
Special Game Elements
- The Caiman: This can block players' paths and be used strategically to hinder opponents.
- Action Cards: These provide special actions that can either benefit the player or hinder others.
End of the Game
The game ends when a player manages to bring their pirate ship to the finish line first. This player is declared the winner.
