Objective

Schrödingers Katzen is a strategic card game where the goal is to figure out which cats are alive or dead through bluffing and logical deduction. Players gather information and try to predict the correct number of living cats to score points.

Components

  • Cards: There are various types of cards, including living cats, dead cats, baskets, and envelopes.
  • Scoring Blocks or Tokens: Use the scoring blocks or tokens to keep track of points.

Setup

  1. Each player receives a set number of cards from the shuffled deck.
  2. The remaining cards form the draw pile in the center of the table.
  3. Some cards are placed face up as the "Laboratory".
  4. Each player draws a starting card from the draw pile.

Gameplay

The game is played over several rounds, each consisting of several phases:

  1. Information Phase: Players can contribute some of their cards to the laboratory to gather information.
  2. Bluff Phase: Players can discard cards face down, claiming they have a certain number of living cats in their hands.
  3. Challenge Phase: Any player can challenge the claim of another player.
    • Correct Challenge: If the opponent's claim was false, the challenger scores points.
    • Incorrect Challenge: If the claim was correct, the player being challenged scores points.
  4. Scoring: Points are awarded based on collected cards and correct predictions.

End Conditions and Winning

The game ends after a set number of rounds. The player with the most points at the end of the final round wins.
