Objective of the Game
Even and Odd is a simple game typically played with a standard deck of cards. The objective is to accurately predict whether your card is even or odd to score more points than your opponents.
Number of Players
This game can be played with 2 to 6 players.
Setup
- Use a standard deck of cards, with jokers removed, resulting in 52 cards.
- Players sit in a circle.
- Prepare a pen and paper to keep track of the score if necessary.
Gameplay
Starting the Round
- The eldest player shuffles the cards and deals one card face down to each player, which nobody, including the player themselves, should look at.
Betting on the Card
- After receiving their card, each player must predict whether their card shows an even or odd number.
- Cards 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 are considered "even"
- Cards A, 3, 5, 7, 9 are considered "odd"

Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) do not count and give no points

Players then take turns declaring their guess aloud whether they think their card is even or odd.
Revealing the Cards

After every player has made a guess, everyone simultaneously reveals their cards.

If a player's prediction matches the actual card, they score one point.

If a player has a face card, no points are awarded for that player for this round.
End of Round
- Collect all cards, reshuffle, and begin the next round.
Ending the Game
- Play continues for a predetermined number of rounds, typically 10 to 15.
- The player with the most points at the end of these rounds wins the game.
Strategy Tip: Since the game is heavily reliant on chance due to lack of full information, observing opponents' tendencies can occasionally be beneficial for exploiting their guessing patterns.
Variants
- Fixed Number of Rounds: Players can agree on a set number of rounds beforehand.
- Penalty: Players with an incorrect guess must perform a task or sit out for a round.
