Heredium: Rules and Concept

Objective of the Game

In Heredium, players fight for survival. Each participant leads a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world. The goal is to collect resources, overcome dangers, and ultimately gain control over the land.

Game Components

• Game Board: Represents the post-apocalyptic world.
• Survivor Cards: Each player receives a hand of characters with specific abilities.
• Resource Cards: These cards represent essential goods like food, water, and equipment.
• Danger Cards: Unpredictable events that challenge the players.
• Markers: Used to denote territory control and resource supplies.

Setup

1. Set Up Board: Place the game board in the center of the play area.
2. Place Resources: Shuffle the resource cards well and place them as a face-down stack on the board.
3. Distribute Survivor Cards: Each player draws a set number of cards.
4. Starting Player: Choose a starting player (e.g., the youngest starts).

Gameplay

The game is played in rounds. Each round consists of the following phases:

1. Exploration Phase: Each player draws a danger card and resolves the event.

   • Tip: Alliances with other players can help overcome dangers.

2. Action Phase: During the action phase, each player can perform up to three actions, such as:

   • Movement: Move your figures on the board.
   • Resource Gathering: Pick cards from the resource deck.
   • Attack/Defense: Interact with other players.

3. Supply Phase: Check if your survivors are supplied with food and water.

4. Scarcity: If you lack enough resources, you'll lose survivors.

Endgame and Victory

The game ends when a player controls a certain number of territories or when all danger cards have been exhausted. The player with the most power (control over territories and survivors) wins.

Strategy Tips

• Resource Management: Plan ahead to avoid scarcity during the supply phase.
• Diplomacy: Utilize alliances with other players to collectively overcome strong opponents.
• Territory Management: Wisely decide which territories to conquer, based on available resources.
