Objective
Paschen is a simple gambling card game similar to Blackjack. Each player tries to get as close as possible to 21 points with their cards without exceeding it. The player with the highest score under 21 at the end of the round wins.
Setup
- Card Deck: The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. Some variations may include Jokers.
- Starting Hand: Each player is dealt two cards at the beginning.
- Card Values:
- Number cards are worth their face value.
- Face cards (King, Queen, Jack) are each worth 10 points.
- The Ace can be worth 1 or 11 points, whichever is more favorable to the player.
Gameplay
- Beginning: The dealer deals two cards to each player, including themselves.
- One of the dealer's cards remains face down.
- Player Actions: Players have the option to improve their hand by taking additional actions like "Hit" (draw another card) or "Stand" (decline to draw more cards).
- If the player draws a card and exceeds 21, they are "busted" and out of the round.
- Dealer's Turn: Once all players take their actions, the dealer reveals their face-down card and draws cards until they reach at least 17 points.
- If the dealer exceeds 21 points, all remaining players win.
Winning Conditions
- The player closest to 21 points without exceeding wins.
- In case of a tie between the player and the dealer, the dealer wins.
Strategic Tips
- Utilize Ace Flexibility: Use the flexibility of the Ace to optimize your hand.
- Track Cards: Keep an eye on played cards, as this affects the probabilities of the remaining cards.
- Risk Management: Consider taking more risks if the dealer shows a high card (e.g., King), versus taking fewer risks with a dealer's low card.
