Instructions Planetenspiel

Objective of the Game:

In Planetenspiel, players aim to create a planet by strategically placing various landscape and habitat tiles on their personal three-dimensional planet board. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Materials:

• Planet Boards: Each player receives an empty three-dimensional planet board.
• Landscape and Habitat Tiles: These are hexagonal tiles representing various landscapes, such as forests, deserts, oceans, and tundras.
• Animal Cards: Cards that depict special animal species that provide points under certain conditions.
• Round Counter and Score Tableau

Setup:

1. Each player takes a planet board.
2. Landscape and habitat tiles are laid out.
3. Shuffle the animal cards, and place a certain number out for the game.
4. Set up the round counter.

Gameplay:

The game proceeds over several rounds. Each round follows this sequence: 1. Tile Selection: All players simultaneously select a landscape tile from the available selection. 2. Tile Placement: Players place their chosen tile on their planet board. They can freely rotate it to fit optimally. The goal is to create connected landscapes and set conditions suitable for animals. 3. Animal Card Evaluation: After all players have placed their tiles, check if anyone meets the requirements of a displayed animal card. If a player fulfills the conditions, they take the animal card and place it beside their planet. Specific conditions might include a minimum number of connected tiles of a certain type. 4. Advance Round Counter: Move the round counter one space forward.

End of the Game:

Once all rounds are completed, the game ends. Players then tally their points: - Points from connected landscape types on their planet. - Additional points from fulfilled animal cards.

Scoring:

The player with the most points at the end wins.

Strategic Tips:

• Tile Placement: Try to create large, contiguous areas of the same landscape type, as they often score higher.
• Animal Card Conditions: Aim to meet the conditions of animal cards throughout the game, as they can provide crucial bonus points.
• Observe Opponents: Keep an eye on your opponents' strategies and try to anticipate their plans to maximize your own chances.
