Objective of the Game

Mmm! is a cooperative board game where players, as mice, try to steal as much food as they can from the pantry before the cat catches them. The goal is to remove all food tiles from the game board before the cat reaches it.

Game Components

  • 1 Game board with a 6x6 grid, represented as a pantry
  • 55 food tiles (in three different shapes: round, square, and rectangular)
  • 4 cat tokens (used to build a tension track for timing)
  • 3 dice (with symbols of different foods)

Setup

  1. Place the game board in the center of the table.
  2. Randomly place the food tiles on their matching spaces (round, square, rectangular) on the board.
  3. Set the cat figure on the starting space of the cat track at the edge of the board.

Gameplay

The game is played in rounds, with players working together:

  1. Roll the Dice: The active player rolls all three dice.
  2. Use Symbols: Use the symbols to cover matching foods on the board. Results can be placed on a single space or distributed across different spaces.
  3. For example, three matching symbols can cover one space or one symbol on three separate spaces.
  4. Completing Spaces: Once a space is fully covered with the necessary symbols, immediately resolve it.
  5. Remove the completed food tile from the board.
  6. Re-roll or Cat Moves: The player may re-roll all unused dice and repeat steps 1-3. If the player cannot place dice on the next roll, the cat moves one space forward on the cat track.

End of the Game

  • Win: If all food tiles are removed from the board before the cat reaches the pantry, the players win collectively.
  • Lose: If the cat reaches the pantry before all tiles are removed, the players lose together.

Strategic Tips

  • Communication: As the game is cooperative, constantly communicate with your teammates to make the best possible choices.
  • Prioritize: Focus on removing the most challenging tiles first.
  • Use Re-rolls smartly to stretch the time before the cat moves, without letting it advance.

The game allows for adjustments by changing the number of cat movements to adjust the difficulty level for different groups or ages.
