Facecards - Game Instructions

Objective of the Game

Facecards is an entertaining card game where the objective is to score as many points as possible by forming card combinations and using open cards to your advantage.

Game Components

• A standard deck of 52 cards without jokers.
• Score sheet (optional) for tracking points.

Number of Players

• At least 2 players
• No fixed maximum, adjusts to the card deck (optimal around 4-6 players)

Setup

1. Shuffle: Thoroughly shuffle the deck of cards.
2. Deal Cards: Each player receives 5 cards.
3. Discard Pile: Place the top card of the remaining deck face up in the center to start the discard pile.
4. The remaining cards form the draw pile and are placed face down next to the discard pile.

Game Rules

2. Draw a Card: The player begins their turn by drawing a card from either the draw pile or the top card of the discard pile.
3. Lay Down Cards: If possible, the player can lay down card combinations in front of them.
4. *Combinations: Possible combinations include:
   • Pairs: Two cards with the same rank (e.g., two Aces).
   • Three of a Kind or Four of a Kind: Three or four cards of the same rank.
   • Straight: Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., Hearts 5, 6, 7).
5. Discard: At the end of their turn, the player must place one card on the discard pile to reduce their hand to 5 cards.
6. End of Round: A round ends when a player has no cards left in their hand.

Scoring

• Scoring Points:
• For each combination laid down, the player receives points according to the card values. Face cards count 10 points each, Aces count 1 point, number cards according to their face value.
• Cards left in hand at the end of the game count against the player with equivalent card value (face cards 10 points, aces 1 point, number cards their face value).

Strategy Tips

• Deck Management: Keep track of your hand and plan ahead which combinations you can form.
• Careful Discarding: Be cautious about which cards you discard to avoid giving other players an advantage.

End of the Game

The game ends after a predetermined number of rounds or when a player reaches a specific score. The player with the most points wins the game.
