Objective of the Game
The objective of Funny Sevens is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards by following a set of rules that particularly involve the cards of rank Seven.
Game Materials
- A standard deck of 52 playing cards.
- 2 to 6 players can join in a round.
Game Play
-
Setup: Shuffle the deck thoroughly. Deal 7 cards to each player. The remaining cards form a draw pile, placed face down in the middle.
-
Starting the Game: The player to the left of the dealer starts by placing a card of their choice face up on the table. Then, players take turns in clockwise order to lay down a card that matches either the rank or suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs, or spades) of the top card on the discard pile.
-
Rule for the Seven: Whenever a 7 is played, the next player must draw one additional card from the pile and skip their turn. A player can counter a 7 by playing another 7, making the subsequent player draw two cards and lose a turn. This can continue until no player can put down a 7.
-
Special Cards and Effects: Additional special cards have their own rules:
- Ace (A): Can be used as a wild card to represent any suit.
- King (K): Reverses the playing direction.
-
8: The next player misses a turn (but does not draw).
-
Drawing Cards: If a player cannot play a card, they must draw one card from the draw pile. They can play this card immediately if it matches.
-
Winning: The game ends when a player has no cards left, thus winning the round.
Strategic Considerations
- Card Management: Try to maintain card options that give you multiple play possibilities.
- Altering the Order: Keep a King to strategically change the direction of play.
- Bluffing: Try to disguise the number of cards you hold to mislead opponents.
Knowing these rules well is essential for playing strategically and successfully. Enjoy playing Funny Sevens!
