Instructions Filzlaus (Einsame Filzlaus)

Filzlaus - Card Game

Family Game, Strategy

group 3 - 6 Deutsch

Objective of the Game

The goal in "Filzlaus" is to collect as many points as possible while skillfully discarding cards and attempting to pass the dreaded filzlaus to opponents without ending up with it yourself.

Game Materials

  • A deck of number cards (typically ranging from 1 to 9 in different colors)
  • A special card: the filzlaus

Setup

  1. Shuffle the deck: Shuffle all cards, including the filzlaus, thoroughly.
  2. Deal cards: Each player receives an equal number of cards (depending on the number of players).
  3. Choose a starting player: Select a player to begin randomly.

How to Play

The game proceeds clockwise, and each round consists of several turns. A turn consists of: 1. Discard a card: The player places one card from their hand onto the discard pile. 2. Follow special rules: Depending on the number card discarded, certain actions may be triggered (such as skipping a turn, reversing order, etc.). 3. Pass the Filzlaus: If a player has the filzlaus card, they can try to pass it to another player through clever card play.

Players repeat this process until they have no more cards in hand. The player who cannot finish their turn or is left with the filzlaus at the end receives penalty points.

Winning

  • Scoring: After several rounds, the total score of each player is tallied. The player with the fewest penalty points wins.

Strategic Tips

  • Keep track: Try to keep an eye on other players' cards and anticipate who has the filzlaus.
  • Control the pace: Sometimes it's better to delay the round's end to pass the filzlaus.
  • Bluff: As the filzlaus is unfavorable, bluffing about what you hold can become a part of the game strategy.
