Objective of the Game
Atlantis is an exciting board game where players try to lead their adventurers safely over the crumbling bridges of Atlantis to safety on the mainland while collecting as many points as possible. The goal is to have the most points at the end of the game by collecting tiles that represent points.
Setup
- Each player chooses a color and takes the three corresponding adventurer figures.
- The bridge track is set up according to the game's instructions. This consists of a series of tiles with point values from 1 to 7.
- Each player receives 10 movement cards. A starting tile is placed in the middle of the table.
Gameplay
Rounds:
The game progresses clockwise. The active player performs the following steps:
- Play a Card:
-
Play one of your movement cards to move one of your adventurers forward. The cards played have numbers from 1 to 7, indicating the number of steps an adventurer can be moved forward.
-
Execute Movement:
- Move one of your adventurers forward by the number of spaces indicated by the played card.
-
If you land on a tile that has not been collected, take it and place it face down in front of you. These tiles count as points at the end of the game.
-
Replenish Tiles:
-
Replenish tiles if the movement of an adventurer creates a gap in the bridge track.
-
Draw a Card:
- Draw a new card from your draw pile, so you always have ten cards in your hand.
Special Features and Strategies:
- It's important to strategically plan the order and timing of your adventurers' movements to collect valuable tiles and get your adventurers to safety.
- Consider your opponents' movements and try to snatch tiles before they do.
- Be cautious when switching adventurers, as you want to bring all your figures safely ashore.
End of Game
The game ends when all adventurers of all players have reached the mainland or can no longer move safely. Then all players count the point values of the tiles they have collected.
Winner:
The player with the highest total score wins the game.
Note: If a player can no longer make a move and cannot play a card, they forfeit their turn.
Atlantis is a game that rewards both strategic thinking and clever timing, while keeping an eye on the plans of your fellow players.
